I’m Casey Gill from Charlotte, North Carolina, above is Charlotte’s skyline. I am extremely close with my family, which consists of my mom, dad, and sister. My mom is a retired Pre-school teacher, now working for Scholastic Book Fairs, my dad is a banker, and my sister, who is 25, just moved to New York City for a change of scenery and to continue working for Wachovia. I absolutely have loved living in the mountains, but enjoy heading back to the city when I can. Baseball and golf are my guilty pleasures to watch on TV, the Atlanta Braves and Tiger Woods are who I pull for. I have been playing softball since I was in 3rd grade; I’m a left handed pitcher and absolutely love being on the field.
The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.
Arthur C. Clarke
I hope my students and for that matter anyone that I come into contact with will carry this quote with them. Many people give up far too easily and do not test the boundaries. I find the only way to live a rich and exciting life is to never limit yourself.
What I Look Like
I am a spunky 5’2 red head with blue eyes. I consider myself very lively and when I talk I am very animated. Many people say my hair is as bright as the sun. Especially when I am outside on a beautiful sunny day and the sun is reflecting off of my hair! (So I am told) I may be small, but I sure can talk! My parents told me it took me so long to talk, (because if I pointed my sister would run and get it) that once I started I had so much to say I could not stop!

How I act : Personality
I am quite the quick witted person. I get this character trait from my dad. I always have been able to think on my toes when someone says something to me and I almost always have a remark to say back. I am also a very patient person. It takes a lot for me to lose my patience and that’s why I think I work so well with children. I am usually always smiling and laughing, everyone always knows when something is wrong with me or I am having an off day. I can always find something to talk about with anyone. I love learning new things from people and having conversations with anyone and everyone! This seems to stem from my curiosity. I constantly ask questions and love hearing about places people have traveled, great sight seeing places, or where outdoorsy people like to spend their time so that I can visit!
I LOVE …..
My Family
This is my family and I at Oak Island on Easter. Every Easter we head to the beach with the entire extended family for the long weekend. My grandparents sold their beach house to live down the road in South Port, so we rent a big house for the whole family to stay in, including my grandparents. It is a great break and one of my favorite places to be.
My first Atlanta Braves baseball game. My dad took me on a father/daughter trip to Atlanta and it was absolutely amazing.
This is my best friend, my sister, Sarah. She is the person I tell everything to and gives me the best guidance that she can possibly can. We may look completely different, but get us around each other and our personalities show just how related we are.
I can not get enough of babies, children, and dogs. Strange combination right? Well, when any of my family or friends are around me if they hear me say “awwww” or gasp, they know I have seen one of those three things. All dogs to me are puppies no matter what!! I am constantly saying “look at that puppy!” This is my friends dog, Stella. She is a short haired pointer aka hunting/water dog. This is the “big” dog that I want to some day soon have one of my own.
Now this is my “prissy” dog! She is still as the pet store and polar opposite from Stella, but the other dog that I would like to sometime SOON own. I will probably get her first.
My love for babies/children might scare some people away but I just love them! Any time I am able to babysit or work in daycare at my church I jump at the opportunity. That’s probably why I loved my job so much the past 3 summers. I worked as a Co-Director/Counselor at my church with kids K-5 every day from 7:15-6. It was a joy to go to work every single day, long and tiring days, but my parents said they had never seen me so eager to wake up early.
This is my pride and joy, Mariella. I happen to know this little one quite well, since she was born. But regardless of if I know the baby or not, I always have to go see it. If I know the baby, I am always the one holding it!
This is my job during this summer, working with kids!! This week happened to be Extreme Adventure Camp, we took the kids hiking and repelling. This is a photo after a great hike with my co-workers and my boss and some of our amazing kids we have the pleasure of working with. This camp was only for 2-5 graders and it was a blast!
This is also one of my camp kids, but my definite mini-me, Samantha. This was during a picnic at church and I was off work!! But not quite, my kids find me wherever I go it seems! She’s a 4th grader, 9 years old, and I really talk to her about almost anything (appropriate for her age of course).
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.

What I dislike …
I absolutely do not enjoy Negative Nancy’s. Negative people tend to bring me down very quickly and I try my absolute best to see the good in everything and everyone unless I am given a reason not to.
Charlotte traffic drives me crazy! People drive too fast or too slow, there is no in between. I’m not sure many drivers understand a turn signal either! All of the sudden breaks are slamming and someone is turning … out of no where!
I like to be my own person, but my downfall is that I envy my sister when it comes to one thing, her athleticism. I consider myself athletic, but my sister takes this to a whole nother level. She runs marathons and tri-athalons and is very disciplined. I have my spirts of workout fits, especially now that I have my Wii Fit … But they come and go. I would like them to stay, much more often!
I also dislike starving children and abandoned animal commercials. Not that I dislike what they are trying to get across … it makes me feel that I could be doing SO much more! Watching children starve on TV and animals that need a home, I just want to take a trip and find the children and allow all of the animals into my house. I know this is not realistic but living in America and a free country with so many benefits and I hope to give back as much as I can because of the fact that I have been so blessed.
Never let the fear of striking out get in your way.

Yay for the Braves! Go Braves! I have been to three Braves baseball games and they are amazing! I love the story about how you didn’t talk for a while because your sister would do everything for you, but once you started talking you had so much to say you just couldn’t stop! I thought that was hilarious! I also love how you included quotes after each section!
I love your page! I learned so many new things about you. I liked how you described your personality. You always have a smile on your face and that is a very good thing. I also share your love of dogs and the pictures are really cute.
Casey,
I learned a lot about from your page! I too spend summers at the beach for a week with my entire family! It is a great time and I love all the memories! Dogs and children are two of my favorite things! You are definitely going to make a great teacher!
I loved reading all of the connections that have been made…wonderful! Thank you for writing so candidly about yourself. I cannot get over your little mini-me…too funny!
